If you live in the US, UK, Canada, or anywhere else abroad and need someone in India to sell property, manage a bank account, or appear in court on your behalf, you need a Power of Attorney that actually holds up — not a generic template that gets rejected at the registrar’s office. As your advocate for NRI Power of Attorney in Ahmedabad, Raval Law Associates drafts the right type of PoA for your situation, walks you through attestation in your country of residence, and registers it correctly once it reaches India. Call us at +91 99099 57585 and tell us what you need the PoA to do.
Getting a Power of Attorney wrong costs you more than money — a vague or poorly attested PoA can get rejected by a bank, a registrar, or a court right when you need it most. We handle every stage so that doesn’t happen.
Email us at legal@ravallawassociates.com with what you need your agent in India to handle, and we’ll tell you which type of PoA fits.
It depends on what you want your agent to do. A Special Power of Attorney works for a single transaction, like one property sale; a General Power of Attorney covers ongoing matters like bank accounts or rent collection. Either way, you sign it before a notary in your country of residence, then either get it attested by your local Indian Consulate or apostilled through your country’s own authorities if it’s a Hague Convention member country. We’ll tell you which route applies to where you live before you sign anything.
Yes, but the PoA alone doesn’t complete the sale. The Supreme Court has held that a Power of Attorney transaction isn’t a valid property transfer by itself — your agent still needs to execute a registered sale deed for the sale to hold up legally. We make sure your PoA grants the right authority and that the actual sale gets registered properly, not left as an unfinished transaction that creates problems later.
Act immediately. Draft and register a revocation deed, send a formal notice to your agent ending their authority, and notify any banks or parties who dealt with them. If you suspect fraud — a forged signature, an unauthorised sale, or your agent withdrawing funds beyond what you allowed — you can also file a police complaint and pursue a civil suit to recover the property or money. None of this requires you to travel to India; we handle the revocation and any recovery proceedings while you stay where you are.
Advocate Parth Raval and Advocate Akanksha Raval each bring 9 years of experience drafting and registering Power of Attorney documents for NRIs across the US, UK, Canada, and the Gulf. That experience covers what actually matters here:
You’ll work directly with one of the founding advocates, not a junior associate handling your PoA as paperwork to push through.
